If you are in New Zealand and require a chest X-ray for immigration purposes, you must first visit an NZ Immigration Panel Medical Clinic.
For your convenience, there is a medical clinic that offers full Immigration Medical services on-site at Lux's facilities, and can be contacted for this service.
At the clinic you choose, the doctor will:
The panel physician will enter your information into the NZ Immigration Medical database, activating your NZER tracking number.
On the day of your appointment, bring your passport and active eMedical number. This ensures our reception has all necessary information to provide you with the best care.
Please make certain to Inform us of any medical conditions or previous imaging results.

Depending on the area to be X-rayed, you may need to remove jewelry, certain clothing items, or change into a gown.
You will stand against a detector while the radiographer, who is behind a screen but can communicate with you, takes the X-ray. It is essential to remain still, as the X-ray process only takes a few seconds.
For children, the radiographer may use restraints to keep them still. These are not painful but can be distressing. Parents may stay with their child, wearing a lead apron to avoid exposure.
There is no specific preparation needed prior to undergoing an X-ray scan.
